Graph AI is the CostGraph assistant. Ask it about your spend, usage, anomalies, or recommendations in plain language. It reads your CostGraph data to answer, as you, with your role, in one tenant, so it sees what you see. Graph AI answers are AI-generated and can be wrong. Check figures in CostGraph before you act on them.

Where to use it

What it can read

Graph AI reads the same data as the CostGraph app, including:
  • Cost, allocation, commitments, and unit economics
  • Insights, anomalies, and recommendations
  • Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, and the Context graph
  • Budgets, reports, virtual tags, and prices
  • The CostGraph documentation

What it can change

Graph AI doesn’t change anything on its own:
  • It can propose virtual tag rules. They wait for someone to apply them.
  • For any other change, such as a ticket, a budget, or a report, it starts a workflow. The change happens only after a member of the tenant approves it.

Chat in CostGraph

On the GraphAI page, type a question to start a chat. Earlier chats are in the chat list, and Search chats finds them by title or content. Deleting a chat deletes it permanently. Choose a persona next to the chat box to change how Graph AI answers:
  • Engineering, the default: technical detail and trade-offs.
  • Executive: the bottom-line impact.
  • Finance: budgets, unit costs, and forecasts.
To keep a chart or table from a chat, select Add to a report. See Reports.

Share a chat

In a chat, click Share, then Create share link. Anyone in the same tenant who has the link can read the chat. They can’t continue it. Only you can share your chat or revoke its link.

Billing

Graph AI and the MCP server are billed per request. See Usage and billing.
